Driver struck vehicle near Route 203 intersection

Posted on December 20, 2012 in Personal Injury

An Illinois woman claimed that a driver violently struck her vehicle, which caused her to sustain a neck injury and a left shoulder injury. This woman has filed a suit against the violent driver. Mariah Perkins claimed that when the defendant, Courtney Jo Colbert, struck her vehicle, they were both driving on North Street near the Illinois 203 intersection. Due to the collision, Perkins acquired $5,000 in medical costs. She is also claiming to having endured an impaired ability to enjoy life because of her injuries, from which she has also suffered pain and discomfort. All of this was included in the complaint that Perkin's filed on November 19. She filed it in the Madison County Circuit Court. In the filed complaint, Perkins claimed that Colbert was negligently driving too fast, she failed to stop or swerve to avoid the collision, she failed to keep a proper outlook, and she violated a red traffic signal. Any of these events, and especially the combination of them all, makes the collision Colbert's fault, according to the complaint. Perkins also stated in her complaint that she is seeking a judgment from the court in the excess of the minimum jurisdictional limits of the court, as well as the addition of costs and any other relief that that court may redeem to be just for Colbert to pay to Perkins.
